The 3 Muses Challenge / Air

As an entry to the 3 Muses Challenge, a drawing made with  Pro Markers. In Kalevala, the national epic of Finland, is a story of  how the world was created. Maiden of the Air called Ilmatar ( means a female air spirit )was bored and she came from heaven and layed down on the sea. And of course, like in good drama, she was inpregnanted by the sea and wind and thus became the mother of Väinämöinen ( the epic hero). In other version  a bird came and layed an egg on her knee, and the egg went broken and from the egg became ground and other things like trees, animals and other people. So , this time only a drawing,  presenting one story of our epic poems.

Kalevalan tarina Ilmattaresta on tällä kertaa innoittanut minut piirtämään tämän kuvan 3 muusan haasteeseen, jonka aiheena on ilma. Tässähän on kunnon draaman aineksia vaikka elokuvaksi : teinityttö pitkästyy ja lähtee maailmalle vähän aikaansa tappamaan. Joku varmaan syöttää hänelle jotain tyrmäystippoja ja koska on niin kokematon tai tyhmä, ei ymmärrä tulleensa raskaaksi vaan synnyttää yksin jossain merellä kaiken maailman vanhoja ukkoja. Isätön lapsi sitten muuttaa maailmaa  ja kiusaa Joukahaisia, jotka ovat sitä paljon komeampia ja nuorempia.

Ja tämä oli meille sarkastisille suomalaisille , jotka jo tunnemme Kalevalan tarinat, ja haluamme tehdä niistä Kaurismäkeläistä elokuvaa.
